June 4 - 11, 2006: No Guests

6/4/06 Sunday

We had no guests this last week, just plenty of work.

Dustin finished up digging the post holes around Pit tank. He did a great job at a really tough job. He stayed out at camp alone and tended horses over the weekends. After the first weekend I notice a huge change in him. He was confident, and getting with the plan.

His work was out in the middle of the valley, not a tree for a mile. It was hot. The digging of 22 post holes three feet deep was a mans job. He got done and I could see it did him well. He had a sense of accomplishment as well as a couple notches less on his belt and a hell of a sunburn.

We spent the rest of the week stringing wire. Nate, Blue, Dustin and I along with Jay from Ma. who arrived last Sunday to spend a few months helping out while being voluntary unemployed.

The fence got done late Friday and its as nice a fence as you will ever see…until the first herd of elk come along.

We broke down the camp at Fence tank Saturday and moved everything about six miles to the east where we are going to set up our summer camp we are calling Meadow camp. It sits in the pines on the edge of a large meadow north of White tank. It will be nice to get in the shade and not be in the open when the summer rains start.
