Nate is a top hand. He’s been with us three years now.

He grew up in this area and has been here most of his life except when he was on the road making a living with his rope on the rodeo circuit.  Well, he’s back on the range and we are glad of it. A good hand with a rope, a good hand with a horse and knows more about cows and ranch life than most 10 people. He won’t wear your ear off yakking at ya but he’ll talk enough to teach ya something and make ya grin. Every once in awhile on a long day he might even sing a bit.

Margaret, better known as Maggie, is Preston’s better half, and we mean that.

She is the one you will most likely talk to if you call during the day. She is the one who keeps everything running around here. She is the one you will see the least of because besides running the ranch office she is a very well known jewelry designer and silversmith. She has a solar powered studio at the house where she slaves away trying to keep up with orders from around the country.

When you do see her out on the range she’s riding her great gelding Chili and cracking jokes all day.

Preston grew up in Virginia and Kentucky, spending the first half of his life in the racehorse business. He headed west in the late 80’s working here and there till he finally landed at the N Bar. He leased it for five years then purchased it ten years ago.

Not very well educated, his ignorance will amaze you.

He knows just enough about anything to make an ass of himself.

Anything he teaches you will probably be something you don’t need to know.

And don’t get him started about the wolves!
